Tanzania
This beautiful Park has often been called a “little gems“ and it is rightly so. It takes only ½ an hour by tarmac road from Arusha town, the safari center of Northern Tanzania. This park is dominated by Mount Meru, which stands at 4,566 m (14,980 ft), it is the 5th highest free standing mountain in Africa and the second in Tanzania. It offers unforgettable experience and serves as acclimatization refuge before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
In general, the best time to visit Arusha National Park is from June to October and December to March – the dry season when the animals are easier to observe as they congregate near fresh water sources, rainfall is minimal, foliage is less dense and mosquito levels are reduced. However the Mountain can be climbed throughout the year.
